ACADEMICS

ADMISSION
The school conducts entrance examination for candidates seeking admission. The questions for the examination are usually culled  from the primary school scheme of work and they (the questions) revolve around the following key subjects:
Mathematics, English language, verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning ,vocational aptitude and general studies.. after the examination, successful candidates would be interviewed and be admitted

Similary admissions are equally offered into all other classes in the Junior and Senior Secondary Schools respectively. However a kind of screeing test would be conducted for selection purpose.

CONDUCTS IN THE CLASSROOMS.
Gulf Flower High School students are expected to conduct themselves in a socially acceptable manner. They are expected to cooperate wholeheartedly with their teachers, pay 100% attention to the teachings/lessons, shun noise making and be attentive all the times.

CLASSROOM/CLASS SIZE
Classrooms in GFHS are designed to conveniently accommodate twenty five (25) students. This design facilitates optimal classroom management. The classrooms are highly spacious and well ventilated. They are as well equipped with modern furniture.

ASSESSMENTS
Students are evaluated through series of standardized tests and examination. The series of tests constitute their termly 40%  continuous  assessment (C A) while the main examination carries the remaining 60%. The C A is the summation of their scores in: projects, assignments,, class tests, practical works, oral tests and other legally recognized methods of assessments. Moreover, promotional examinations are always conducted  at the end of every third term of each session. Similarly, the midterm examination (tests) is equally conducted and the result is usually handed over to parents during the termly open day.

GRADING SYSTEM
GFHS grading system is exceptionally designed to inculcate outstanding and workable reading habits in the students. The grading system is divided into two categories, they are:
1.    Junior secondary school(Basic education) category.
2.    Senior secondary school category.

Mathematics, English language, Yoruba language, computer studies, social studies, civic education, music, French, Basic technology, Basic science, Home economics, Business studies, Fine art Agricultural science, Human kinetics and physical education(PHE), Christian religious knowledge.etc

SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL SUBJECTS:
Mathematics, English language Yoruba language, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geography, computer studies, Account, Commerce,Technical drawing, Agricultural science, Christian religion knowledge,, food and nutrition, Economics, Further Mathematics, Government.etc.

ELECTIVE  (VOCATIONAL ) SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL SUBJECTS
Data processing,  Dying  and Bleaching and Book keeping etc

DRESS CODE:
 The senior students of GFHS wear customized wine checked long slip shirts on wine trousers/skirts. While the junior male students wear  customized wine checked short slip shirts on wine trousers and pinafore on   wine checked short slip shirts for the junior female students. The senior secondary classes add a wine waist coat to the combination statedto make  above.
More importantly,the dress codeoutlined above are meant for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday  and Friday of every week while the school sport wear is adorned on Wednesday of every week.
The school uniform and the sport wear are available in school for purchase.

THE SCHOOL BOARDING HOUSE
The school  operates a boarding system at both the primary and secondary school levels.. The boarding house is a home away from home. Every amenity required to make learning conducive for students are available. The meals are carefully and nutritionally prepared by a team of professionals. The management does not relent in paying proper and adequate attentions to the welfare and and the health of the boarders

DINING HALL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1.    Obey every bell inviting you for meal or dismissal after meal.
2.    Every student must be present in the dining hall during every meal
3.    Do not talk while eating
4.    The dining hall must be kept clean at all times
5.    No student must be found/seen in the dining hall after 7:25am.
